Respect and Inclusion

- Harassment, bullying, or hateful content will not be tolerated.
Honesty and Transparency
- Be truthful in your profile and listings.
- Only list spaces you are legally allowed to sublet or rent.
- Provide accurate details about availability, pricing, and amenities.
Safety First
- Follow all local laws, building rules, and university housing policies.
- Hosts must ensure listings are safe and habitable.
- Guests should respect property rules and treat spaces responsibly.
Use the Platform Properly
- Always communicate and pay through the Shacked platform.
- Off-platform payments or communication are prohibited (and unsafe).
- Do not attempt scams, spam, or fraudulent activity.
Protect Privacy
- Respect the privacy of other students.
- Do not share personal contact information outside of secure platform channels.
- Do not misuse or reshare other users’ photos, details, or conversations.
Reporting Issues
- Users are encouraged to report suspicious listings, inappropriate behavior, or safety concerns.
- We review all reports and take action, including suspending or removing accounts.
Consequences for Violations
- Violations of these guidelines may result in warnings, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
- Severe violations (fraud, harassment, illegal activity) may be referred to law enforcement or universities.
