About Us
Shacked started with a simple realization:
College life doesn't sit still, so why does housing act like it does?
Between moving campuses, traveling for internships, living at short-term places, and constantly being in between "where I live" and "where I'm going next," it became clear how broken student housing really is. There were always empty rooms somewhere, and always students searching for a place.
The vision for Shacked came from founder Harrison Hughes, a college student who experienced these problems firsthand. Living out of a backpack around the world, weekends away, semester gaps, last minute plans. The same issue kept showing up again and again: housing wasn't built for how students actually live.
So instead of forcing college life into long leases, overpriced hotels, or sketchy group chats, Shacked was built to move with students, not against them.
Shacked is about showing up for friends, for opportunities, and for the moments you don't want to miss.
Staying is the new scrolling.
